“Sandy Hook Research” is a collection of the extensive research that I’ve done into the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and the conspiracy theories surrounding it.
This effort began much more modestly back in 2013 after a video that sought to cast doubt on the official account of the shooting which posted on an unrelated message board. After expressing some skepticism of some of the claims being made, I was challenged by a proselyte to “do some research”, the familiar and wholly insincere refrain of the conspiracy theorist. So I did, and the more I dug, the more holes and outright deceptions I found.
Motivated by the shamelessness and dishonesty of those perpetuating these claims, particularly those that sought to profit from the tragedy, I began taking a much more active role in seeking out and combating Sandy Hook conspiracy material online. Eventually, as these theories edged their way into the mainstream, it made more sense to gather all of my work into one place that could easily be found by anyone, and that’s how “The Crisis Actors Guild” came to be.
“The Crisis Actors Guild”, launched in 2015, is my first “debunking” site. And while the focus has always been on the Sandy Hook School shooting, my original intent was to cover as many similar conspiracy theories as time allowed. But the amount of misinformation online quickly became insurmountable, particularly in the buildup to the 2016 US Presidential election, and I soon abandoned the idea.
While much of the material on this site is nearly identical to what can be found on “The Crisis Actors Guild”, this site aims to confront a common (though I’d argue unfair) criticism of its source material: that the tone is too hostile. There is a group of what I’d refer to as professional Sandy Hook conspiracy theorists who know what they’re pushing is not only offensive and dangerous, but also demonstrably untrue (I believe my research has proven that), and I make my feelings towards them known. I see no reason to treat them with respect, so I don’t. But I understand that this can turn some people away as well as allow these conspiracy theorists to dismiss the work outright, so I wanted to demonstrate that my research could stand on its own and still be just as effective, if not more so, without the “edgier” material. That’s how this site came to be.
As always, all research has been conducted and all material has been written by me, except where otherwise noted. While I very recently added the ability to donate to the site, I have never been paid to write to write about Sandy Hook (or any other topic). I have also never been directed or asked to write anything about it either. In short, any accusation that I’m a “shill”, paid or otherwise, is entirely false.
